The difference between green tea and sencha
"Sencha is a type of green tea." This is correct.
However, "Green tea is sencha." is not accurate.
Sencha is a type of green tea, made from the young leaves of the tea plant that are picked, steamed, rolled, and dried. Green tea includes various other types as well, such as gyokuro, kabusecha, matcha, bancha, tamaryokucha, and hojicha, so not all green tea is necessarily sencha. Sencha is just one category within green tea.
