It’s a common concern to notice tea stains on teacups and teapots. Isn’t it something that everyone has experienced at least once?
This article In this article, we’ll discuss methods for dealing with tea stains if you don’t have a dishwasher.

Tea stains cling to the surface and can create a rough texture that might make you want to scrub them off with a brush or abrasive cleaner. However, this method is not recommended as it can scratch the surface of ceramic or glass, making the stains more noticeable and potentially causing a cycle where stains become harder to remove.

Our recommendation is to use “the power of chemistry” to remove tea stains. Since tea stains are acidic, using an alkaline solution will make them easier to clean. While vinegar might seem like a good option for cleaning, it’s acidic and not ideal for removing tea stains.

One effective method is using baking soda. Dissolve 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda in about 1 liter of water or warm water, and soak your tea ware in the solution for 1-2 hours. After soaking, gently scrub the tea stains with a soft sponge. This method should be sufficient for light stains.

For stubborn stains that baking soda can’t remove, try increasing the soaking time or repeating the soaking and scrubbing process. If the stains are still persistent, you can use a powerful alkaline cleaner like kitchen bleach, which works remarkably well. However, be cautious as bleach is highly alkaline. It’s best to dilute it appropriately for use.

*Note: Plastic tea ware might be damaged by alkaline solutions, causing cracking or discoloration. Stainless steel is generally safe to clean with alkaline solutions, but aluminum tea ware or parts may corrode or discolor, so avoid using the methods described here for aluminum items.

A clean tea ware enhances the enjoyment of your tea experience!
