How teplo Official Tea Leaves Are Made: Part 2

22-02-28-0056

We introduce the following three processes involved in creating teplo official tea leaves, one by one, over three articles:

  1. Finding the tea leaves
  2. Determining the amount of tea leaves and standard extraction conditions
  3. Setting the personalized extraction algorithm

In the previous article, we discussed the process of finding candidate tea leaves for teplo official tea. In this article, we will cover the process of determining the amount of tea leaves and standard extraction conditions, which forms the basis for extraction conditions.

Teplo official tea leaves are packaged in a quantity that corresponds to one extraction with the teplo teapot and teplo cold brew carafe.

In this process, we determine the amount of tea leaves (the quantity used for one extraction) and the standard extraction conditions.

First, we use the amounts and extraction conditions from other teplo official tea leaves as references to set a baseline, and then we repeatedly test the extraction with both the teplo teapot and the carafe.

Since we have roughly confirmed the tea leaves’ character during the tea tasting in the first process, we experiment with various extraction conditions to fully bring out that character. Depending on the type of tea leaves, some may have distinctive characters whether brewed at high temperatures quickly or at low temperatures slowly, making it sometimes challenging to decide which should be the standard setting.

“Repeating extraction tests” might seem straightforward in writing, but it involves a painstaking and meticulous process of testing until satisfactory conditions are found. Since we are committed to delivering enjoyable and high-quality tea leaves to everyone, we dedicate considerable time and effort to ensure we provide optimal extraction conditions without any compromise.

In the next article, we will discuss the process of setting the personalized extraction algorithm, which is the key feature of teplo.
